Getting there

Jet 2 offers flights from various UK airports to Palma on 17th March, returning on 24th March 2017. Other operators include Ryanair, Monarch and Easy Jet.

Transfers

Transfers for you and your bikes are included in the camp on Friday 17th March. Nearer the time you will be asked for your flight number and notified of your transfer time both from and to the airport.

Bikes

Bring your best bike! No need for mudguards or winter bikes. Mallorca offers beautifully smooth roads and a perfect opportunity to enjoy riding your favourite steed. There are plenty of bike box hire companies but we advise you book this in advance and don’t leave it until the last minute. March is a popular time for travelling with a bike. Book your bike onto your flight using the ‘Bicycle’ or ‘Sports equipment’ function.

A 39 x 25 (34 x 23 if on compact) is the minimum bottom gear required for climbing in Mallorca. It is important your bike is in good working order before you fly, so if your gears aren’t shifting or your bottom bracket is creaking, please ensure you visit your local mechanic in advance of the training camp.

Bike Hire

Bike hire is readily available but again, please book your bike in advance. The earlier you secure your hire bike, the best choice you are offered. Secure a top-of-the-range carbon bike by booking ASAP. We recommend Viva Bikes who are located in the hotel. Check your hire bike comes with pedals to match your shoes or if you need to bring pedals of your own.

Clothing and equipment

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best! Although we expect sun sun sun, Mallorca can be cold especially as the sun begins to fall and we descend off the mountains. We recommend carrying arm warmers and a gilet in your jersey pocket each day for the latter part of the ride. Worst case scenario it rains; bring a lightweight waterproof or showerproof jacket, leg warmers/tights and overshoes.

Every rider must come equipped with all the tools to assemble their bike from the bike box, make any minor adjustments to their bike and change an inner tube should they puncture. Please bring a couple of inner tubes, a hand pump or gas canisters, tyre levers and a multitool.

And don’t forget your helmet (no helmet, no ride), shoes and pedals!
