Laura Tissiman went from casual commuter to experienced bike racers following a week of intensive miles, nutrition advice and skills practice on our OTE Training Camp in Mallorca…
“I only got my first road bike in May 2014 to commute 14 miles to work. I started to up the mileage and took part in my first sportive (65 miles) in 2015. From then on I was hooked. I wanted to go further and faster,” said Laura.
“ For my biggest challenge to date I signed up to the Struggle (Dales) sportive in 2017 and wanted to be in the best shape possible to complete the ride in a decent time. I also thought it would be fun to train for an event of this magnitude and get some hill climbing in.

I signed up for the OTE Training camp to boost my training but also to ride with a bunch of like-minded folk, in warmer climes and on smooth roads. When else do you have the opportunity to ride your bike all day every day for a week?”
The camp taught me loads; proper fuelling for big rides, communication in groups and how to descend better. I also saw a definite improvement in my speed. It was when I went back into group riding at home that I noticed this the most.”

“After the OTE Training camp in Mallorca I completed the Struggle sportive and then turned my attention to bike racing. Since spring 2017 have have completed countless road races and my confidence and performance has just gone up and up. I even competed in the Yorkshire Regional Road Race Champs.”
