On day three of our OTE training camp in Mallorca… it was 27 degress – in March! Even the locals were losing the layers. For us Brits, it was the perfect oppor tunity to define the tan lines we’ll be brandishing back home.
Today the climbers of the camp came into their own as we took on some tough ascents including the Col D’Orient. After refuelling in Bunyola Square it was time to tackle the infamous hairpins Col de sa Batalla.
It will be the rapid descent from the summit that will stick in riders’ minds. After the sweeping corners down the mountain, the freshly tarmaced 8km run-in to Pollenca was a thrill.
